Russian artist Klever’s Creation of a new Homo Sovieticus at the Arts Factory
The Arts Factory welcomes the art of Russian artist Klever as some of his political and non-political abstract works will be on display beginning with live presentations by Klever both November 6th at 6:00pm and during the First Friday event on November 7.
The pieces that will be on display in the Arts Factory gallery are works that were smuggled in the middle of the night out of Russia through Paris back in the late 80’s before the Iron Curtain came down. Klever is part of a core group of Russian Non-Conformist Artists whose art survived the oppressive regime during the closed door “Cold War” era and achieved world recognition. These paintings were created at a time when the citizens of Russia were suppressed on every front: politics, religion, and culture.
