I attended the fantastic Halloween Parade and party, it was the best I have seen in years. To my suprise there were entry's from the Las Vegas Medical Marijuana & Medical Cannabis Advocates groups. It was good to see those older senior citizens with their walkers & wheelchairs marching with these entries and hoping to make a difference for alternative perscriptions. However, many of these patients are in fear of being arrested or fined for using Marijuana because our Nevada law is unclear about use and distribution. Judge Mosley of District court has requested the law to be clarified allowing for this alternative medicine and so far NOT one member of our Legislature has stepped forward to help solve this problem. Speaking to candidates running for office they skirt around it not even committing to discuss the issue. The action of our elected officials speaks for their uneducated knowledge of cannabis, hemp(marijuana)and the benefits it would provide such as opening new industry and jobs for thousands in manufacturing construction, food, clothing, fuel, green energy, medical cures, etc. Then, on the Federal level the law needs to be repealed to take Marijuana out of schedule #1 drugs and place it with regulation of tobacco and alcohol so that we can tax it and benefit from a God given plant. Please Nevada Legalize it,Licence it, Regulate it, Tax it, so those who wish can use it. Is there any elected official who will step forward to stand with this issue or will it be swept under the carpet and left untouched where patients are forced to deal with drug dealers or grow their own just to get the medicine they choose. There has to be a solution to this Growing problem.
