Black Uhuru

Jamaican Reggae Legends, Black Uhuru, come to the Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip. Uhuru as they initially called themselves, is Swahili for ‘freedom.’ The band formed in the Waterhouse District of Kingston Jamaica in 1972 by founding members Duckie Simpson, Garth Dennis and Don Carlos. While both Dennis and Carlos left to pursue solo careers, Simpson formed a new version of Uhuru with Errol Nelson (of The Jayes) and Michael Rose, calling themselves Black Sounds Uhuru.
