he community is invited to celebrate the life of revered mixed martial arts coach Shawn “The Coach” Tompkins at the TapouT Training Center. Tompkins, 37, was a pioneer in MMA coaching who inspired countless athletes and fans. He passed in his sleep on Aug. 14. Special guests include Sam Stout and Mark Hominick, who both trained under Tompkins and currently fight in the UFC, Bas Rutten, former UFC heavyweight champion, and Mike Straka, television journalist and creator of the MMA news and entertainment program “FOX Fight Game.”
