Burlesque Reunion Weekend at The Orleans
Christopher DeVargas
The Burlesque Hall of Fame’s 54th annual all-star Burlesque Reunion will take place at the Orleans Hotel & Casino. This four-day celebration is the premier event in the international burlesque calendar, drawing top-tier performers from around the globe, who travel to Las Vegas each June to honor the unique history of their art while pushing it to bold, new heights. Among the Weekend’s scheduled participants include: Kitten Natividad, Haji, Lottie “The Body” Graves, San Francisco’s Grant Avenue Follies; past “Miss Exotic World, Reigning Queen of Burlesque” titleholders Catherine D’Lish, Seattle, Kitten DeVille, Erochica Bamboo, Dirty Martini, Michelle L’amour, Julie Atlas Muz, Kalani Kokonuts and Roxi D’Lite; plus a special tribute to the late Tura Satana.
Thursday night is the Movers, Shakers & Innovators showcase, featuring neo-BQ superstars and cutting-edge up-and-comers. Friday’s 54th Annual Burlesque Reunion showcase will be an evening of vintage-style striptease as performed by 25+ classic stars of the 1940s-1970s. Saturday is the 21st Annual Tournament of Tease (formerly the “Miss Exotic World Pageant”), in which the world’s top neo-burlesque entertainers compete for the most coveted titles in modern day bump & grind. Sunday night’s Superstar Closing Gala will feature an all-star lineup of BHOF Weekend titleholders past and present, including the first-ever Sassy Lassy Award recipients “for excellence in the promotion and perpetuation of Burlesque.”
