Dancing Through Time– A Class for Everyone!
Dancing Through Time is a social and ballroom dance class specially designed to accommodate caregivers and care receivers of all physical abilities. The course offers interesting historical information about ballroom dancing, followed by the opportunity to experience dance styles, movement and music. Participants will learn techniques to increase coordination, balance, flexibility and rhythm. Many of these techniques can be performed sitting in a chair. In addition to an enjoyable experience, anticipated benefits include increased range of motion, stamina and sense of well being. Taught by Dr. Carole Rae, Founder and Professor Emeritus of the Dance Department, University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Caregivers and their loved ones are invited to participate.
All programs are designed for family and professional caregivers, featuring topics of interest to those who care for individuals with ALS, Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s, Parkinson’s, dementia and other neurocognitive disorders. Complementing excellent patient care, the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health is focused on providing supportive services and programs to caregivers and family members, maximizing their knowledge, skills and capacity to provide care.
