Clean it up - Green it up!
In anticipation of the debut of the 18b Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) Gold Line bus stop on Casino Center Boulevard in March, the citizens and businesses in the arts district are cleaning up the neighborhood by going green and introducing recycling to The City of Las Vegas Neighborhood Clean Up program with the help of Simple Waste Solutions, NVCCU and GoingGreen.com. A group of community heroes, led by superhero GoingGreen Girl, will gather at the Arts Factory March 6, 2010 at 9:30 A.M. for a two-hour clean-up, culminating with entertainment and refreshments provided by Trader Joes, Chef Mayra and downtown restaurant Casa Don Juan.
The community heroes, called the G-force, will be participating in a series of down town clean-ups that will not only pick up garbage in a designated area but will recycle it as well. The March 6th clean-up will begin at the Arts Factory and cover the space between Hoover to Charleston and First Street to Casino Center.
