Julia Alvarez book signing

Have a great author read to you

Julia Alvarez, author of In the Time of the Butterflies, will read from her latest book, Once Upon a Quinceañera, at 7 p.m. on August 18 at the Clark County Library’s Jewel Box Theater. Quinceañera explores the coming-of-age ritual for Latinas turning 15. Trust us—it’s nothing remotely like the MTV My Super Sweet 16 parties. As Alvarez will explain, it’s an extremely important event that’s never taken for granted. A book signing will follow the reading.
