Submitted on Mon, Oct 5, 2009 (8:58 p.m.)
When people come to Vegas they usually come with the mind set – PARTY. They usually don’t think about death. Nonetheless, many die on The Strip needlessly.
BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING
Las Vegas is in the desert. The air is dry. The temperature is scorching. The Strip is close to five miles long. You will be walking long distances in this environment. Drink Water.
You are consuming alcohol. Dehydration and stupidity will set in.
You are probably not eating healthy.
You are sleep deprived.(Mid-day naps are great)
You may be taking medication. Pack them in your carry-on luggage.
There are others that are drunk and often driving. Use caution crossing any street.
There are criminals who will prey upon your weaknesses.
There are prostitutes with diseases.
There are prostitutes that will rob you.
There are prostitutes that are cops. You don’t want to go to jail.
There are places not to be. If you suspect you are there - Go away to somewhere safe.
People will “hook up” with you just to rob or hurt you in your room.
There are crosswalks and overhead walkways to protect you. Use them.
There are no clocks in Vegas, carry a watch. If it is expensive – hide it.
When you gamble and win big, there is someone watching. Use security for your winnings.
Strippers are not your friends. You are their customer. You are a source of income.
Gamble only what you can afford to lose.
Use hotel room safes to keep your valuables in when not in your room.
Carry your cell phone – 911 works in Vegas to.
Don’t visit Vegas alone. It is always better with friends and family.
