Submitted on Wed, Jun 3, 2009 (9:45 p.m.)
One of the major problems of the modern world remains the problem of religious and national xenophobia, which tends to develop, which is a serious obstacle to the globalization processes and could lead to serious political, economic and civilizational conflicts. To resolve this problem, build and develop the dialogue between different civilizations. A special place in this process is the inter-religious dialogue, as in spite of the development of secular trends in the modern world, religion continues to play a greater role in shaping a world view of people. Achieving mutual understanding between different religious worldviews may have, that all of their basic tenets are based on common values, recognized by all civilizations. This is especially true for Muslims and Christians.
The dialogue between the West and the Muslim world at the present stage is the most important. There are many problems that need to discuss joint efforts. First. This is a problem of international terrorism. The dialogue will help identify the true origins and causes of terrorism under religious slogans to express their position in relation to these negative aspects. This dialogue should not limit itself to a meeting of Heads of State. Dialogue is necessary between the faiths at the local level. In each individual country. Important role played by the practice of dialogue and the elimination of xenophobia. The thing is that in Europe and America, live large colony of immigrants from Muslim countries and regions. In this regard, there is often mutual hostility between the indigenous people and immigrants from the east. The problem is compounded by the fact that they belong to different cultural and civilizational layers, which in no small measure shaped by the Christian and Islamic religions. Although with it should be noted that often, many customs of different peoples do not have a direct relationship to these religions. Thus, the practice of dialogue between representatives of these faiths can certainly help the understanding between different communities within the country and help create stability. The practice of interfaith dialogue can also play a big role in addressing the various stereotypes and suspicion of people against each other. The thing is that as a result of direct contact, the parties may present arguments in relation to other evidence of insolvency of any stereotypes that have evolved over many centuries.
