Ultimate 1-Day Basketball Camp

The JCC of Southern Nevada has partnered with the Tarkanian Basketball Academy to announce the ULTIMATE 1-DAY BASKETBALL CAMP on September 14, 2014 from 9:00am - 4:00pm for grades 6th - 12th. Highlights of the community-wide program include age-appropriate skill development and advanced fundamentals followed by full court games with an emphasis on shooting, passing/catching, rebounding, ball handling, footwork and offense/defense strategies. Each participate receives a reversible team jersey, official camp water bottle, framed group photo, official camp shirt and more. A kosher lunch and Gatorade is provided as well as MVP trophies for a selected few. The experienced coaches, massive giveaways and surprise activities makes this never done before program stand out from the rest.
Matt Horelick, the 1-Day Ultimate Basketball Camp Director is enthusiastic about this new program. "I'm so excited to be involved in the first ever 1-day program with such experienced and knowledgeable coaches. There is such a need for a program in our community, especially for the Jr. High and High School students. We have been working diligently to make it a tremendous success"
Matt has been working closely with Zach Cohen, Tarkanian Basketball Academy Assistant Director. "Coach Cohen has such an amazing background and a love for basketball and coaching." says Horelick. He is such a valuable resource with years of playing basketball and doing basketball programs on a variety of levels.” Coach Cohen also emphasizes how they are bringing in top-notch coaches. "Our coaches have worked in a variety of levels including overseas, NBA, D-League, College, High School, Club AAU, pro athlete trainers and more," says Cohen.
Coach Cohen is currently a Physical Education teacher for the Clark County School District and played basketball at the collegiate level as well as in Greece and China. He has extensive experience coaching children all the way up to the professional ranks. He has been directly involved in many basketball camps, such as Nike Elite, Attack Athletics, Kevin Durant Skills, Adidas 64, Nike Power Factory, Lute Olsen, Sean Miller, USC Camp, NBA Summer League and more. Coach Zach Cohen summarizes everything is a few words, "BASKETBALLIS MY LIFE!"
Due to the age-appropriate grouping, space is very limited and on a first come - first served basis. The Tarkanian Basketball Academy is located at 2730 S.
