Nerds Against Cancer Raising Funds for Local Veteran

LAS VEGAS (July 30, 2014) - Nerds Against Cancer is helping to raise funds for a local hero. Iraq War Veteran Brian Peltz was recently diagnosed with Lung Cancer, despite being a non-smoker. Donations are being taken online atwww.NerdsAgainstCancer.com and at a local event.

Contributions are being accepted in person at a special event from 12 pm to 6 pm on Saturday, August 2nd. Action Comics and Games is hosting the event, located at 210 N Boulder Hwy #110, Henderson, NV 89105. The festivities include tournaments for Brian’s favorite game, Magic: the Gathering™, as well as raffles for valuable items donated by local businesses and nerds. All proceeds generated will go towards treatment costs for Brian Peltz.

“Nerds Against Cancer will put all of the energy of our community towards a common goal: defeating Brian Peltz’s cancer,” says Zachary Reyburn, owner of community website Jitte Games. “Our nerds usually battle dragons and supervillains, but together we plan to help this real-life hero beat this real-life arch nemesis.”
