Downtown Spaces welcomes new galleries and businesses to the Gateway District

Published on Tue, Jul 22, 2014 (11:20 a.m.)

LAS VEGAS – Downtown Spaces, the premier collection of creative workspaces in downtown Las Vegas’ Gateway District, has announced the addition of three new tenants to its diverse community—Dragon Talent Group, Spectral Gallery and Urizen Gallery.

Dragon Talent Group is an experiential entertainment company specializing in live events. The young, dynamic firm books pre-existing acts as well as develops new ones, and also creates full-scale productions. Dragon’s mission is to honor and compensate artists, create opportunities and benefit the community. One of Dragon Talent’s partners is Skin City Body Painting, which joined the Downtown Spaces community several months ago.

“We decided to be part of Downtown Spaces because we believe in its mission of creating an affordable workplace for artistic entrepreneurs and an incubator for the creative community,” said Dragon Talent Group CEO Ronnie Silveira Jr.

Spectral Gallery, located on the first floor next to Dragon Talent, is an exhibition space and art studio co-run by longtime local artists Mike Biggs and Jska Priebe. The gallery, adorned by deep red velvet curtains and an eccentric antler chandelier, features distinctive, original works by its owners, along with … Spectral will celebrate its arrival with a grand opening party on Friday, Aug. 1 from 6 to 10 p.m. featuring live painting demonstrations and refreshments.

Featuring the art of husband-wife team Benito and Kortnie Colón-Contreras, Urizen Gallery, located on the second floor of Downtown Spaces behind Ortego’s Juniper Art, is a cozy, welcoming space where visitors can peruse and purchase both original works and prints by these talented young artists. Urizen Gallery is open the first Friday of every month and each Thursday prior, or by appointment by contacting [email protected].

Dragon Talent Group, Spectral Gallery and Urizen Gallery join other recent additions such as Pierre Phillip Apparel and Shoes and Skin City Body Painting in a growing community that already features such diverse businesses as Square Shooting Photography, Las Vegas Burlesque Studio, Wasteland Gallery, Naked City Audio and Creation Forge Studios.
