May 29, 2012 (Las Vegas, Nevada) – Christ Lutheran Church returns this summer as a designated site of the Nevada Summer Food Service Program. Through the program, all children ages 2 through 18 are eligible to receive free breakfast, snacks and lunch on weekdays at designated sites beginning Monday, June 11, 2012.

Food for the program is distributed every weekday by Three Square Food Bank; it is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture and administered in Nevada by the Nevada Department of Education.

At Christ Lutheran Church, breakfast will be served Monday through Friday 8 to 9 a.m., and lunch will be served Monday through Friday 12 to 1 p.m.

“Last summer we were able to provide vital weekday meals and snacks to an average of 63 kids each day,” says Church Administrator Charlie Fitzgerald. “We have the capacity to serve more meals and we welcome all kids in our area.”

Christ Lutheran Church is located at 111 North Torrey Pines, at the US95 overpass. This year’s program runs from mid-June through Friday, August 24, 2012.
