Valley Electric Association Launches 24-Hour EasyPay Kiosk

PAHRUMP, Nev. (Nov. 26, 2013) – Valley Electric Association, Inc. (VEA), a member-owned electric cooperative headquartered in Pahrump, recently introduced its new EasyPay Kiosk, which members can utilize at any hour of the day or night to pay their bills and access their accounts.

The outdoor kiosk is located next to VEA’s drive-up service window at 800 E. Highway 372 in Pahrump. The increasingly popular kiosk has been utilized by hundreds of VEA members since the cooperative launched the new service in October.

VEA members have a number of options for accessing their account information at the outdoor kiosk, including scanning VEA’s new EasyPay card, which is free and available to all members. People can also access their accounts by entering their account information with the kiosk’s on-screen keyboard, or by scanning the barcode on their paper bills. Members can make bill payments with credit or debit cards, electronic checks or cash.

As a result of the 24/7 service available through the EasyPay Kiosk, VEA plans to close its drive-up window on Dec. 6. This change will offer VEA members multiple options for managing their accounts, whether they prefer the quick and simple access of the kiosk or the personalized assistance provided by customer service representatives over the phone or face-to-face at the VEA office.

“By replacing the drive-up window with the new EasyPay Kiosk, VEA will be able to move staff members from the window to other customer service positions, providing additional support to members who call or visit our office,” said Dan Tillman, VEA’s executive vice president of administration and finance. “VEA is passionate about providing members with a variety of convenient tools for managing their accounts.”

In addition, VEA members also now have the option to access their account information via SmartHub, a free application accessible via computer, smartphone or tablet that allows people to pay their bills and view detailed information about their energy usage.
