Southern Nevada Music Donates $5,000 to Philharmonic

LAS VEGAS, NEV. – Following one of the most successful events in company history, Southern Nevada Music, 1881 S. Rainbow Blvd., announces that it has raised more than $5,000 to benefit the Las Vegas Philharmonic.
More than 100 grand and upright pianos were showcased by Southern Nevada Music during the recent three-day, multi-million-dollar event at its Las Vegas showroom. In fact, the event represented the largest single display of Steinway and Steinway-designed pianos ever assembled in the greater Las Vegas area, says Denise Wunderlich of Southern Nevada Music. The region’s exclusive dealer for Steinway since 1958, Southern Nevada Music donated part of the event’s proceeds to the philharmonic.
Founded 55 years ago, Southern Nevada Music was acquired in 1981 by Wunderlich and her sisters, Lisa and Caryn, who expanded the company to two locations. Aside from Las Vegas, Southern Nevada Music also has a showroom at 350 N. Stephanie St. in Henderson. In addition to its extensive piano inventory, the company also provides piano instruction from its highly regarded music school.
The 76-piece Las Vegas Philharmonic – Southern Nevada's only professional symphony orchestra – is celebrating its 15th anniversary and second full season as a resident company of The Smith Center for the Performing Arts that opened last year
Joining a diverse Masterworks Series of classical performances, the philharmonic’s Pops Series is an acclaimed addition to the annual concert calendar, while a Youth Concert Series of free concerts for fourth and fifth graders has reached more than 160,000 young people. Moreover, the philharmonic is a seven-time recipient of the Best Performing Arts Group award in the annual Best of Las Vegas poll.
