Lutheran Social Services of Nevada and Bank of Nevada have partnered in the past to help people in need. That need ranged from assistance with securing a Nevada ID, rental and utility, and food. Bank of America has renewed that commitment with a donation of $4,800.00 to help address the needs of the community. This donation will help Lutheran Social Services of Nevada continue its mission to “express the love of Christ by serving and caring for people in need.”
The Christmas holiday is almost upon us as we prepare to provide nutritious food to families in need during this season. The generous donation will help those in need during a rough economic time and holiday season. Bank of America has been a long-time supporter of the mission and it shows their dedication to strengthening our community. Bank of America will also bring 40 volunteers that will help sort and stock food in the food pantry for customers to shop for the holidays. LSSN is proud of the relationship and the support from Bank of America and their staff.
Lutheran Social Services of Nevada bridges and mobilizes multiple community resources in order to break the cycle of poverty, empowers and engages clients in self-growth and self-sufficiency, and navigates homeless and low-income families to independence through community support systems. Since incorporating in 1997, the agency has served over 190,000 clients in Southern Nevada. Services are provided regardless of religious affiliation, age, or national origin, and include a client-choice supermarket-style food pantry, nutrition education, SNAP (food stamps), temporary financial assistance for rent and utilities, help with obtaining birth certificates and ID’s, employment training, and home-care services for the elderly.
Lutheran Social Services of Nevada, accredited by the United Way of Southern Nevada, is a Registered Service Organization of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod; a member of the Lutheran Services of America; a member of Home Care Association of America; and licensed by the State of Nevada for home care.
