Local Non-Profit Aims to Keep Local Youth Athletes Safe, In the Game & Out of the Local Operating Room’s with Free Youth Sports Safety Seminars

Las Vegas, NV – April is Youth Sports Safety Month! To Celebrate, LVSportz, a recently launched local non-profit, has just announced their first ever Youth Sports Safety Clinic (Intro to Youth Sports Safety).

This is a FREE seminar and is the kick-off to their Youth Sports Safety, Injury Awareness & Prevention Program. This clinic/seminar is open to all youth coaches, parents and athletes. Anyone that is involved with sports in our community is encouraged to attend. The seminar will provide a general overview of youth sports safety that will touch on topics such as types of injuries and how to prevent them; Concussion's; Proper Nutrition and more...

The first of these events has been planned for Monday April 16th from 6pm to 8pm at the Clark County Library (1401 E. Flamingo Road, Las Vegas, NV 89119). This is only the first of such events they are planning and have already decided planning another one for Monday April 30th.

Scheduled to present on different types of Injuries and their prevention is Dr. John Vigil from Hurt Less, Play More.

Informational hand-outs, including Sport Specific hand-outs, from the Stop Sports Campaign and the CDC will also be given to all those in attendance.

These Clinics and Seminars are based off of, and held in conjunction with, the ASSOM’s Stop Sports Injuries Campaign, The CDC’s Heads Up: Concussions in Youth Sports Campaign, the National Center for Sports Safety and the Youth Sports Safety Alliance.

Coming in the near future they will follow-up with more specific and in-depth clinics.
