2013 CURTAIN CALL LUNCHEON SERIES

The 14th annual Curtain Call Luncheon series, a fundraising event sponsored by the Guild of the Utah Shakespeare Festival, held in conjunction with the Utah Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City, Utah, will begin on Friday, July 5, 2013. Luncheons will be held Fridays on July 5, 12, 19, 26 and August 2, 2013.
Ted Porray, 2013 Guild President and luncheon moderator, mentioned that all proceeds from Guild events such as this luncheon series are donated yearly “to the Festival to help them with their mission to entertain, enrich, and educate”. He was also very proud to add “in just the past eight years alone, the Guild has donated over $130,000 to the Festival.”
Porray said “It’s a great opportunity to enjoy a delicious hot buffet style lunch and have an intimate discussion with Festival actors”. He noted, “It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet the people behind the characters that Festival patrons see on stage.”
In a question and answer format, luncheon patrons would learn what goes into the Festival productions from those closest to the process. Porray indicated that each luncheon would feature four different Festival actors who are appearing in this summer’s 52nd season of productions.
Luncheons will begin at 11:45 a.m. with actors appearing from noon to 12:50 p.m. They will be held in Southern Utah University’s beautiful and intimate J. Rueben Clark, Jr. Alumni House on the northeast corner of 300 West and Center Street (just north and across the street from the Randall L. Jones Theatre).
Advanced tickets are $17.50 and may be purchased in person at Festival ticket offices, by calling 1-800-PLAYTIX, or online at Bard.org before the day of the luncheon. Any remaining tickets will be sold the day of the luncheon for $20.00 and will be available only at the door as seating is limited.
The Guild is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded to serve, support, and promote the Festival. Porray said that with the Guild having been started in 1963, this year is their Golden Jubilee year and the Guild is celebrating 50 years of service and support to the Festival.
