Ubiquita Supports Chairman Fred Cox’s 12th Senior Design Competition

UBIQUITA SUPPORTS CHAIRMAN FRED COX’S 12TH SENIOR DESIGN COMPETITION

Las Vegas, NV – May 9, 2013 – Ubiquita, Inc. a voice and IT services provider and proponent of supporting innovation, is giving back to the community with the sponsorship of the 12TH Anniversary of Fred and Harriet Cox Senior Design Competition at UNLV. Since 2002, Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering supporters Fred and Harriet Cox have provided funding for the Senior Design Competition. This year with the involvement of Fred Cox, chairman of the board Ubiquita is proud to support the Civil, Environmental Engineering and Construction category.

The 2013 Spring Senior Design Competition is the culminating project for undergraduate engineering students at UNLV. The event is judged by local industry representatives and has thousands of dollars in prize money on the line. This semester more than 30 teams created a variety of technologically innovative projects, ranging from a high-tech blanket that emits cool temperatures, a shelving system that will help wheelchair-bound people reach high kitchen shelves, to a machine that automatically rolls silverware into napkins. The competition introduces students to the spirit of entrepreneurship and the benefits of commercial application.
