Human Trafficking Rally To Engage Las Vegas Community

In recognition of the congressionally recognized National Human Trafficking Awareness Day (January 11th, 2013), a coalition of experienced professionals will hold an educational event to detail the various aspects of human trafficking and its unfortunate place in the Las Vegas community. An open forum with experts, breakout sessions for youth, and a variety of entertainment will comprise the four hour engagement which aims to better inform and equip locals with crucial information about this form of modern day slavery.

The engagement will commence with a screening of a thirty minute documentary which depicts the reality and impact of sex trafficking in Las Vegas, and includes interviews with the event’s participants. Two forums with a panel of community experts and specialists will follow to explain about the impact of media on youth and also the tactics pimps use to lure, control, and exploit young men and women. The event will conclude with two special breakout sessions designed to educate and empower our youth. There will be several selections of entertainment throughout the program.
