Act Now Entertainment announced their new U.S. home at Step Up Academy of the Arts and will be performing a concert at The Smith Center of Performing Arts on December 10, 2012.
(HENDERSON, NV) – November 22, 2012 Act Now Entertainment and International Musical Theatre Program announces its new U.S. home at Step Up Academy of the Arts, 2558 Wigwam, Suite A, Henderson, Nevada 89074. Act Now Entertainment is a unique performing arts program that has inspired and nurtured the talent of thousands of young performers in the UK over the past 30 years. “I am delighted to be crossing the pond for young people of Las Vegas to gain experience and have some of the magic that we produce in London", says Artistic Principal, Matthew Chandler.
Act Now will present their first concert, Way Out West End: A Merry Vegas Christmas, on Monday December 10th at the prestigious Cabaret Jazz Room at The Smith Center of Performing Arts. The event will show off the talents of the current ensemble who will perform songs from the up and coming movie musical Les Miserables, the works of Jason Robert Brown and the Up and coming Broadway Musical ‘Matilda”. The ensemble ranges from 5 to 21 years old.
It’s a stroke of luck that Chandler is bringing the magic and skill of the English Theatre world to Las Vegas. Last July Chandler directed The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and At the Corner of Broadway and West End, in Las Vegas. This collaboration and international exchange of young artists, had talented youth performers from the Henderson area and 16 members of his UK youth company, first performing in Las Vegas then performing in London. It was such a success and Chandler fell in love with the talent in Southern Nevada and it was only natural that he continues his efforts to grow the program.
Act Now Entertainment believes that children should be trained as professionals by professionals. The team maintains an established link with casting directors, music producers, and talent agents across the world. We are passionate about releasing the individual, skill and flair of each student in all aspects of their chosen field. Our experienced creative team provides exceptional training and is dedicated in preparing and inspiring our students at the highest level.
Chandler started performing at the age of 10 years old in West End Productions of Joseph & The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Peter Pan, The Hobbit and numerous concerts at the world famous London Palladium. He trained at top British theatre schools, the Corona Academy and the Guildford School of Arts. His other professional Theatre credits include, Fiddler on the Roof, Anything Goes, Robin Hood, Cabaret, Guys and Dolls, Carmen, Aladdin, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, to name only a small portion.
