PRESS RELEASE
Building Hope Nevada Welcomes New Board Members: Glenn Nowak and Tina Willis

Las Vegas, November 6, 2012 - Building Hope Nevada is proud to announce the addition of Glenn Nowak and Tina Willis to their Board of Directors. Nowak and Willis bring with them a commitment to community engagement as well as unique and valuable working experience with organizations dedicated to bettering Southern Nevada.

Glenn Nowak holds a Master of Architecture degree from Cornell University, in addition to Bachelor degrees in Architecture and Environmental Design from Ball State University. He currently teaches architectural theory and design studios at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas' School of Architecture. As Foundation Studies Coordinator, he authored “13 Ways of Looking at Architectural Theory” a textbook for beginning design students. As Interim Director of the UNLV Downtown Design Center, Nowak was integral to the advancement of the center’s emphasis on inter-disciplinary design investigations and the nurturing of public and private partnerships. He is the founder of the Hospitality Design (HD) Concentration, an unprecedented integration of the architectural profession with the academy. Nowak has led students in the concentration to win several international design competitions and research awards. His own research has been published with the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture and presented across the country and around the world.
From 2009 to 2011, Tina Willis served as Destiny House Director for The Church at South Las Vegas where she assisted in creating and developing the program and built community partnerships key to helping women transition from victims to over comers. In 2011 she became Grants and Fundraising Director for iMPACT, a social services non-profit started by The Church at South Las Vegas to expand their community programs. Willis secured several grants for programs critical to meeting the needs of many low-income community members. Through personal experience, Willis has a strong understanding of the recovery process women go through to rebuild their lives after being victims of abuse and/or exploitation and overcome the challenges of moving out of the welfare system.
