Las Vegas Tea Fest to Debut in the Arts Factory
Published on Tue, Oct 9, 2012 (2:58 p.m.)Las Vegas, NV - Naomi Rosen, of Joy’s Teaspoon, and Louise Carruth, of Little Candle Tea Company, are proud to announce the debut of the Las Vegas Tea Fest. “We have a great tea movement starting to happen here in Vegas. The LV Tea Fest gives us a chance to showcase all of the incredible tea products and services that are right in our own backyard,” says Joy’s Teaspoon owner, Naomi Rosen. “Where
else can you visit with retailers, sit it on tea classes, and take part in tea ceremonies all in one spot, on the same day?” The Las Vegas Tea Fest will kick-off at 9:00am on Saturday, November 10th, 2012, at The Arts Factory in Downtown. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased ahead of the event at www.lasvegasteafest.com. In addition to walking The Arts Factory and
admiring the art and artists, we will also feature:
9:30 — 10:30: Countries of Origin Tasting Session – Join us as we sample multiple teas from China, Japan and India. We will discuss the differences in growing conditions, harvesting, manufacturing and flavors.
10:45 — 11:45: Cooking with Tea - Executive Chef Beni Velasquez, of Bar + Bistro, will entice our senses and likely make us drool as he shows simple ways to incorporate tea as a broth, spice, marinade and more!
1:00 — 1:45: Wu Wo Tea Ceremony – A tea ceremony for the masses! No matter your age, sex, financial standing, tea knowledge…all are welcome to participate.
1:45 — 2:15: Sip + Sample: Tea & Chocolate
2:15 — 2:45: Sip + Sample: Tea & Cheese
3:00 — 4:00: Golden Leaf Challenge - The coveted Golden Leaf Award is given to chefs/restaurants/bakeries that achieve excellence in the execution of using tea as a primary ingredient in their culinary creations.
4:00: Silent Auction/Raffle – We are very proud to have partnered with Studio8Ten, a non-profit art studio and gift shop providing creative, business-based employment to people with disabilities. We will host a silent auction and raffle with proceeds going to support the mission of this amazing organization!
5:30: Tea Cuisine with Chef Beni – We are ecstatic that Executive Chef Beni Velasquez, of Bar + Bistro, has agreed to wow us with a tea filled, tea centered, four-course dinner. Every aspect of the meal, including ingredients, will revolve around tea. (**Please note that tickets are sold separately for this event.)
