New features added to the already spectacular holiday traditionLAS VEGAS, Nev. – Glittering Lights, the holiday drive-through spectacular, will brighten Las Vegas Motor Speedway with the world’s largest light tunnel and more than 450 animated light displays along a 2.5-mile racetrack. This season Glittering Lights is expanding with more displays that include a NASCAR scene and Avenue of Trees. The largest regional holiday light show is all LED, a more energy efficient way to entertain Las Vegas, nightly from Nov. 16, 2012 through Jan. 6, 2013.
“During Glittering Lights, visitors will be able to enjoy the festivities from the warmth and comfort of their vehicle as all designs are made to be viewed from the car,” stated Shannon Bentham, co-founder of Ivory Star Productions. “With new elements, Glittering Lights will be an even more spectacular holiday experience.”
An exciting addition to Glittering Lights is the Avenue of Trees. This area is sponsored by Las Vegas Motor Speedway and will showcase over 55 charities with custom dedication signs and fully lit trees decorated by each charity.
“This will be the third year that we've hosted Glittering Lights, and we're looking forward to helping make this the best holiday experience in the valley,” said Chris Powell, president of Las Vegas Motor Speedway. “This event is an inexpensive way for families to enjoy holiday time together, and it allows us to raise money for children in need here in the Las Vegas community.”
Speedway Children’s Charities receives a portion of ticket sales and provides funding for hundreds of children’s charities throughout Southern Nevada. Goodwill of Southern Nevada will provide $2 off admission with a donation of gently used items at any of the 30+ sites located in Southern Nevada or at the gates of Glittering Lights.
Glittering Lights will operate Monday – Thursday from 5:30 – 9 p.m. at $15/ vehicle and Friday – Sunday from 5:30 – 10 p.m. at $20/ vehicle. The first 15,000 vehicles will receive a gift bag filled with goodies. Purchase tickets at www.glitteringlightslasvegas.com, any Walgreens or at Glittering Lights at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
