Phoenix RoadRunners' goalie Craig Kowalski halted the Las Vegas Wranglers' nine-game winning streak at the U.S. Airways Center with a stunning 44-save performance that lifted Phoenix to a 2-1 victory Monday night.

RoadRunners' left wing Ashton Rome scored in the first and third periods to help Phoenix improve to 6-24-1 all-time versus Las Vegas.

Defenseman Jeff May, who was acquired by the Wranglers Monday morning, scored Las Vegas' lone goal during a 5-on-3 power play in the second period. P.J. Atherton and Chris Neiszner assisted on that goal.

Newly acquired goalie Brent Krahn started in place of John DeCaro Monday, but his 24 saves were not enough for the victory.

The Wranglers (2-4-1) return to the Orleans Arena this weekend to host the Bakersfield Condors (2-3-1) on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Phoenix (5-2-1) on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Dunkin Donuts will hand out free coffee cups to the first 2,500 fans at each game.
