Winning the West - RNC
(A team of Sun reporters is at the Republican National Convention this week in St. Paul.)
No hangover in the Twin Cities, with conservatives having closed the bars and moved right on to bloody mary bars after Sarah Palin's impressive performance last night.
Regular readers will recall the off-message adman we ran into at the St. Paul hotel bar two nights ago.
We ran into him again last night, and again he was in the bar drinking Russian River Chardonnay. He was ecstatic about speeches from Giuliani and Palin.
Adman: She was amazing! Six point bounce! Giuliani was amazing! Six point bounce!

Yes, I'm sure, after a gallon of chardonnay, she sounded GREAT!
I know about beer goggles.
I've just discovered wine ears!
That's what I was thinking of all the candidates EXCLUDING Rudi and Palin, they were the only two who you didn't need to get sauced to listen to...
What lame reporters you have! Was this article written by a two year old?
Again, snide remarks delivered loudly have been confused with meaningful statements.
Palin tried to have books banned when she was mayor and tried to fire a librarian who stood up to her. She made all her city managers sign letters of resignation to "show their loyalty" to her. She is currently being investigated for abuse of power by the Alaska legislature. The prosecutor has audiotapes, emails, and multiple witnesses. She abused her power as mayor, she abused her power as governor, and she will abuse her power if she ever gets to Washington. Hopefully, she will be indicted on Oct. 31st and that will be the end of her.
The people are buying into Palin because nominating her says Drill Here and Drill Now. That is the economic plan to save America
Here are some pics of the "soccer mom"

Tonight’s the night.
ABC News Anchor Charles Gibson is going to interview Sarah Palin Thursday.
Here’s a list of questions I DARE Charles Gibson to ask. I’m not a betting man, but may Las Vegas can set up a betting pool to see which if any of these questions Gibson actually will ask.
Let’s make this a game of 21.
1. Barack Obama supports equal pay for women. Both John McCain and you oppose equal pay.. Why?
2. You have campaigned for more oil produced on American soil, yet papers published by both the Heritage Foundation and the Cato Institute want to eliminate the 1977 ban on exporting oil. If Japan or Korea offered Alaskan a higher price for oil than America, would you favor lifting the ban?
3.. You recently told everyone that you put the governor’s private jet on sale on e-Bay. How did that sale actually work out. According to a recent article from the Washington Post, you billed the state $ 43,490 for travel to and from Wasilla.. Why haven’t you made all these details public?
4. What is your opinion of Karl Rove’s indictment by the House Judiciary committee?
5,. Your husband is a member of United Steel Workers. According to the magazine USW@Work, in 2006, 5,840 workers, like your husband, died from fatal workplace injuries and accidents. According to the USW@Work, this casualty rate is caused by a gutting of OSHA by the Bush administration, and overwork and over time which causes worker fatigue. In addition, according to USW@Work, 50,000 to 60,000 workers died of occpational related diseases. Do these statistics concern you?
Sorry, I'd ask more but my 3000 characters are up. I'll see if I can add more next time.
As I view it the media is (again) doing some serious ball-dropping when it comes to the McCain/Palin campaign.
At the VP debate, in Palin, I saw a Governor, who feels herself above the law. McCain, knowing that she is under investigation, tabbed her to be his VP. He showed atrocious judgment, the thuggery aspect of his character and that he learned zip from the Keating affair. He has interfered with a State investigation and injected bitter D.C. politics in order to influence its outcome. This is the guy, who is saying that he is the one to change Washington. Fool me twice. It occurs to me that, if elected, they would further politicize the justice system on the order of Alberto Gonzales. The laws are something that others should follow, not them. With McCain, folks with "boots on the ground" in Iraq should be given deference. In Alaska, though, he just ran over State officials who have "boots on the ground" and knowledge of their own affairs. The Senate must DO ITS DUTY, investigate McCain and censure him if warranted. We are seeing a bad precedence being set. It should not be allowed to stand. McCain should not be allowed to inject Keating Six mentality and Third World thuggery into the government and politics of this country.
I am pleading with every one of you, who believe as I do that this is setting a bad precedence and smacks of thuggery to write to your elected officials demanding that McCain be investigated for his dealings in the local official affairs of the State of Alaska.
You know, sometimes the vice president gets selected because they are dingbats and the presidential candidate doesn't have to worry about being challenged by them. Maybe that is was McSugarCaine did this time. I think he is gonna get whipped real good! Amen.
