(A team of Sun reporters is at the Republican National Convention this week in St. Paul.)
ST. PAUL -- Gov. Jim Gibbons arrived at the convention hall and has joined the Nevada delegation on the floor.
As he made his way around the back of the hall, someone snapped his photo. He seemed alone.
The governor is not a delegate, but his spokesman said previously he was coming to the Twin Cities to meet with other Republicans on issues facing the state, like balancing the budget during tight fiscal times.

Oh, so everybody's supposed to put their lives on hold because it's raining in the Gulf coast?
I am astonished at the sociopathy R_Linn has just exhibited. I can only hope that others display more compassion and humanity than this poster has.
I certainly am glad Gustav appears to have done much less damage and hope the people of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast can get home soon. That should be everyone's priority ... not the Republican governors of Texas and Alabama bragging about their response THIS time.
My compassion also compels me to ask whether all of the women in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area have been warned to stay out of McCormick & Schmick restaurants now that Gibbons is on the scene.
By all means, mschaffer, enlighten us: What did YOU do Monday to help alleviate the problems in the Gulf Coast?
I donated $100 to the Red Cross, after Barack Obama texted me to remind me.
Professor Green, I think that sending out a broadcast via the convention pa system is something that should be considered. It is not just the one steak house where patrons should watch out, it is all over the Twin Cities. Mr. Gibbons is a pervert of monumental acclaim and should be required to address teh good folks of MInnesota as to his propensity to assault and then lie.
