Vegas Play of the Day: Dayton vs. Boise State

Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

Dayton minus-4 vs. Boise State: $440 to win $400

Boise State just wanted to get into the NCAA Tournament, so if that means a road game so be it. But it’s going to be a quick exit for the co-Mountain West champions who have to earn their way into the real tournament field by defeating Dayton at University of Dayton Arena.

That alone would be tough, but there’s a case to be made that this Flyers team should be safely in the field and not dealing with this play-in game as the very last at-large team included. Yet here’s where they are, with home fans having an easy option to flood an arena that sometimes doesn’t get a great environment for these games that people don’t even bother picking in bracket contests.

That’s probably won’t be the case tonight, and while this Broncos team has the ability to win the game I don’t think it’s going to come together with this much stacked against them.
