Vegas Play of the Day: Arizona vs. Oregon in Pac-12 championship game

Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

Oregon plus-12 vs. Arizona in Pac-12 Conference title game: $550 to win $500 I can’t bet against Oregon at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The Ducks seem to always be at their best when playing on the Strip. In 2013, they won the Pac-12 tournament in its initial season in Las Vegas. Forgot about the 12 points they are receiving today on the betting board, I think they can beat Arizona straight up to win another Pac-12 championship.

Last night, they upset Utah for a seventh straight victory. They’ve covered the spread in all seven games. Senior guard Joseph Young, who averages about 20 points per game, has been unbelievable for Oregon down the stretch. He’s so fun to watch — combination of great scoring and facilitator of the offense. Elgin Cook is a terrific second option and will be difficult for Arizona to guard on the wing.

Arizona, the nation’s fifth-ranked team and a favorite to go to the Final Four, has had its way with Oregon this season, including a 90-56 victory on Jan. 28. I just can’t bet against a hot Oregon squad. Even if it doesn’t win, they are going to give Arizona a scare and keep it close.

Standings: Keefer (70-68-2, $10,937), Bern (68-62-1, $9,846), Brewer (60-73-3, $2,965)
