Vegas Play of the Day: Colorado State at Wyoming

Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

Colorado State plus-2.5 at Wyoming: $440 to win $400

I’ve had a lot of success lately going with the team that lost its first meeting of a conference game getting payback the second time around. That’s the situation we have here again as Colorado State, which lost at home to Wyoming 60-54 about a month ago, will make the short drive across state lines seeking revenge.

Colorado State has won five of six since that meeting and its one loss, at Boise State, could have gone the other way if not for a costly technical foul on coach Larry Eustachy that shifted momentum in the final minutes. Meanwhile, Wyoming is 2-3 in its last five games, with two of those victories needing a combined four overtimes.

I thought Wyoming would lose only once at home in league play, and that already happened against San Diego State. However, if another team is going to pull off the feat, I think it will be the Rams, and even if they fall short, maybe they can keep it within a couple of points.
