Vegas Play of the Day: World Series Game 2

Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

San Francisco Giants plus-120 at Kansas City Royals: $300 to win $360

The Royals’ path through the playoffs, winning eight straight game heading into the World Series, always had a tinge of the Colorado Rockies’ run in 2007. The Rockies won 21 of 22 games, including two series sweeps, before getting swept by the Boston Red Sox in the World Series.

I’m not giving up hope for the Royals, who saw their good times come to an abrupt halt in Tuesday’s 7-1 loss. But with this team, there’s more value on the Giants. The major ding against San Francisco tonight is starter Jake Peavy and his 7.03 career ERA over seven postseason starts. That’s an ugly number, but his team is 5-2 in those games, and I’m not so sure the Royals aren’t rattled.

Standings: Bern (48-45-1, $10,321), Keefer (45-51, $8,631), Brewer (44-49-3, $5,955)
