Vegas Play of the Day: Monday Night Football

Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

Houston Texans at Pittsburgh Steelers under-45.5 points: $330 to win $300

Outside of the starting running backs, there’s not much to like about either of these teams. They’re both 3-3, competent but not impressive. I couldn’t bring myself to really get behind either of these teams, so I’m looking at the total and hoping for nothing to happen.

The Steelers are in the league’s bottom 10 for points per game and the Texans aren’t a lot better. The rushing defenses are a concern, as neither is even in the top half of the league, but I suspect we’ll get enough stagnation that we can get to the end of the game right in the 40-42 point range.
