Washington Nationals Bryce Harper (34) high-fives Ian Desmond after they both scored in the seventh inning against the San Francisco Giants during Game 3 of baseball’s NL Division Series in San Francisco, Monday, Oct. 6, 2014.

The ebbs and flows of the South Point-lined Play of the Day series have never been this pronounced.

Ten days ago, our $10,000 bankrolls were soaring with a scorching start to football. Since then, we’ve collectively gone 1-9. It’s time to start a new positive streak.

Washington Nationals at San Francisco Giants over 6.5 runs at minus-125: $250 to win $200

Ryan Vogelsong is struggling. And the Nationals are not the cure to his ills.

The Giants’ starter has posted an ERA of 5.54 over his last five starts. That’s actually an improvement over his history against Washington.

Vogelsong gave up nine runs in 11 innings against the Nationals this season and has a 7.94 ERA in five lifetime starts against the team. The Nationals’ offense seemed to get on track in their 4-1 win over the Giants Monday.

They should put up five or six runs against a lesser pitcher in Vogelsong. That leaves the onus on the Giants to score a run or two.

With their struggling offense and Gio Gonzalez on the mound, it’s no guarantee. But I tend to think they’re capable with their season on the line and a desire to end the series at home without going back to the East Coast.

All three games in the series have gone under the total, but six of the seven meetings between the teams in the regular season went over. It’s time for some runs.

Standings: Bern (47-42-1, $11,091), Keefer (44-46, $10,681), Brewer (40-48-3, $4,945)
