Long Beach State plus-11 at Xavier: $550 to win $500 : Long Beach State senior guard Mike Caffey will likely be the best player on the court today against Xavier. In basketball, that one play can be the difference — especially when receiving 11 points on a bet.
The senior guard Caffey is averaging 19.5 points, 5.5 assists and 4 steals per game in two games, including making 60 percent of his 3-pointers. He had 26 points and six assists last week against BYU, when Long Beach State almost beat BYU on its own court. BYU’s Marriott Center is one of the toughest venues for opponents to win at in college basketball.
In one game this season, Xavier shot 67 percent against Northern Arizona in scoring more than 90 points to win in lopsided fashion. I just don’t see that trend continuing, especially against a Long Beach squad capable of scoring in bunches.
