It’s not often a college football game between Southeastern Conference rivals Alabama and LSU might not be the most appealing game on the betting board to the general public.

You can easily make that argument next Saturday when Ohio State visits Michigan State in an anticipated Big Ten Conference showdown. Michigan State is a minus-3 betting favorite in early numbers released today in Las Vegas for the 5 p.m. game on ABC.

Ohio State and Michigan State each have 7-1 records. Both score about 45 points per game, which ranks in the top-10 nationally.

Michigan State in No. 8 in the College Football Playoff poll, knowing a victory against No. 16 Ohio State will enhance its resume to be selected for the four-team field. The same sentiment is surely shared by Ohio State.

What about Alabama?

The Crimson Tide is a minus-6 point favorite at host LSU in what is annually one of the best games of the season. Next week, though, it will take a backseat to the Big Ten.
