Vegas Play of the Day: Rockets vs. Cavaliers in NBA Summer League

NBA Summer League - Cleveland vs. Milwaukee

The NBA Summer League’s days are numbered.

The action at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion wraps up Monday so might as well get some bets in while available with the South Point-lined Play of the Day, which began with $10,000 starting bankrolls.

Houston Rockets plus-5 vs. Cleveland Cavaliers: $275 to win $250

The Cavaliers aren’t just the talk of the NBA; they’re the talk of the Summer League. And rightfully so, as the last two top picks in the NBA Draft — Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett — have thrilled in a headlining role on Maryland Parkway.

Bettors appear to have jumped on board, as Cleveland was minus-4 earlier in the day before boosting an extra point. The Cavaliers are undefeated in the summer league, but all three games were close.

In fact, the Rockets’ scoring differential is only five points worse over the summer despite losing two games. The Cavaliers might be stronger at the top, but the Rockets aren’t far behind when looking at the whole roster.

Isiah Canaan, Donatas Motiejunas, Nick Johnson and Andre Dawkins are all averaging double-digits in points. Houston has also gotten solid bench contributions.

It looks like a competitive game that will come down to the last couple possessions. Therefore, taking the points is the choice.

Standings: Bern (37-25-1, $13,819), Keefer (30-35, $8,896), Brewer (25-36-3, $3,185)
