Vegas Play of the Day: Detroit Tigers at Los Angeles Dodgers

Detroit Tigers minus-115 at Los Angeles Dodgers: $230 to win $200

With college basketball officially done I’m forced to move into the world of baseball. I used to love baseball betting but have definitely soured on it after a couple rough years on the diamond.

But that’s in the past. Time to shake off the rust and start off with a bet I don’t love but don’t particularly feel bad about considering I’m siding with the defending Cy Young Award winner.

The Tigers’ Max Scherzer was excellent in his 2014 debut but didn’t get any run support. Now he’s on the mound for Detroit’s first road game of the season against a Dodgers team that has lost its only game as an underdog so far this year.

Los Angeles may be in for a good run in the next few weeks because nine of the next 11 games are against the Diamondbacks and Giants, whom the Dodgers have already faced this year. They would even see an Arizona pitcher or two three times before April 21.

But those other two games are this quick series against Detroit and at the start of this West Coast swing I like the road team.
