51s drop another in extra innings

The Las Vegas 51s were defeated in extra innings for the second consecutive day on Saturday night at the Sacramento River Cats.

Las Vegas pitcher Davis Romero walked Sacramento’s Jeff Baisley with the bases loaded in the 10th inning to force home the winning run in a 4-3 Sacramento victory. Sacramento was victorious 2-1 in 16 innings Friday.

J.P. Arencibia hit his eighth home run of the year in the ninth inning for the 51s to tie the game at three and force extra innings.

Las Vegas manager Mike Basso and infielder Jonathan Diaz were both ejected in the eighth inning for arguing balls and strikes after Diaz struck out looking.

The series continues tomorrow at 1:05 p.m.
