The Las Vegas 51s were defeated 7-3 on Thursday night by the New Orleans Zephyrs at Cashman Field in the final game of four-game series.
Randy Ruiz had three hits to lead Las Vegas, leading off the third inning with a single and scoring on a Travis Snider double.
But New Orleans scored two runs in the fourth and sixth innings to take a 6-2 lead, highlighted by a two-run home run from Andy Gonzalez in the fourth. Alejandro De Aza led New Orleans with four hits.
The 51s, who dropped three of four games to New Orleans, open a four-game series at 7:05 p.m. Friday at the Sacramento River Cats. Sacramento (29-18) is in first place of the Pacific Coast League’s Pacific South Division, 10 games ahead of last place Las Vegas (19-28).
