51s capture extra-inning affair in Memphis

Kyle Phillips’ sole home run in the top of the 11th inning Wednesday gave the Las Vegas 51s a 4-3 victory at the Memphis Redbirds.

Jason Lane’s three-run home run in the top of the 10th inning broke a scoreless tie and gave Las Vegas a 3-0 lead. The long ball also snapped a streak of 22 scoreless innings.

However, Memphis pieced together five singles in its half of the 10th to even the score at three.

Johan Bayliss fanned two batters in the bottom of the 11th for his first save. Jeremy Accardo, who surrendered the three runs in the 10th, was credited with the win.

Las Vegas and Memphis play the third game of their four-game series at 5:05 p.m. Thursday.
