51s beat Bees, 4-3, on Arencibia’s 11th-inning double

The 51s ended a four-game losing streak by beating Salt Lake, 4-3, in 11 innings Thursday night at Cashman Field.

Trailing 3-0, second baseman Howie Clark hammered a three-run homer to right field, with Scott Campbell and Buck Coats on the bases, to tie the game off Bees pitcher Kevin Jepsen with one out in the bottom of the eighth.

Salt Lake pitcher Jeremy Hill (0-1) started the 11th, and Brett Harper greeted him with a single to left. Russ Adams was put in to run for Harper, and Jason Lane laid down a sacrifice to get Adams to second.

Catcher J.P. Arencibia followed with a double to center field to bring Adams home with the winning run. Reliever Jonah Bayliss of the 51s improved to 3-0.

Las Vegas (6-14) plays the Bees (13-7) again Friday and Saturday at 7:05 p.m., and they finish the series Sunday at 12:05 p.m.
