Bryce Harrell's run-scoring single plated Ryan Jackson with the winning run Sunday to lift Henderson's Legacy Little League to a 10-9 victory against Utah's Cedar City American Little League at the Western Regionals in San Bernardino, Calif.

The win puts Legacy, which opened Friday with a 7-1 loss to Northern California, at 1-1 in the six-team event with two games remaining in pool play competition. The winner advances to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.

Jackson had the big bat for Legacy, hitting a three-run home in the third inning to erase a 5-3 deficit. He also doubled to lead off the sixth.

"We hit the ball pretty good today, but we could have hit it better," Legacy coach Todd Slusher said. "All of the teams here are so good that you don't know what to expect with each game. You can't afford to play an average game or struggle."

Matt Almodovar and Dylan Pletsch also hit home runs for Legacy as it built a 9-5 advantage. But Utah took advantage of inconsistent pitching by Legacy to even the game at nine in the top of the sixth.

Legacy returns to action Tuesday against Park View Little League of Chula Vista, Calif. The Southern California team beat Utah 27-1 in its tournament opener.

"We have to play six innings all the way through," Slusher said. "No games should be a blowout in this tournament."
