UFC: Cote wins; it’s time

I’m in the corner directly behind Ricardo Almeida and he had issues with the taping of his hand after the first round. It led to a long delay – or at least longer than the usual one minute.

Following the round it seemed Almeida was hesitant to throw punches. He may have broken the hand.

Patrick Cote escaped what seemed to be a tight triangle in the first minute of round two.

Round three was some slow and plodding striking. Both landed single shots. But no real combos.

It was an ugly fight and not in a good way.

The crowd was appalled by the performance.

“I’m sorry the fight was close,” Cote said. He then gave a shout out to a sick kid. It’s hard to hate that.

The fights on the pay-per-view section of the card haven’t been as good as some of the early fights. Most impressive so far was Melvin Guillard's knockout of Dennis Siver in 36 seconds.

But now it is time.

The crowd seems to be pro-Forrest.
