UFC 86: Forrest Wins, Forrest wins, Forrest wins

A ton will be written about this fight. About Rampage’s power. About Forrest’s chin.

About the potential for a rematch. About who matches up better with Chuck Liddell.

About 25 minutes of all out brawling.

About how it was an epic battle and all of that.

About underdog Forrest Griffin surviving some brutal attacks and still winning. It was a unanimous decision, although some will disagree.

It was a great fight and a better spectacle. The 10,000 people in Mandalay Bay got what the came for and there’s no too many people who purchased the pay-per-view for $44.95 that will be disappointed.

It was the UFC – at it’s best.

A few quick notes:

We’re headed to the press conference for more posts.

Randy Couture was in Forrest’s corner. He ducked out of the camera shots, likely as a result of his ongoing legal battles with the UFC.

Mandy Moore was here for the main event.

Forrest swears a lot so I can’t quote him in here. But, suffice to say, it was the best day in his life.

Rampage will no doubt be back. He was gracious in defeat.

He’s at Prive tonight.
