It was a double loss for UNLV Wednesday night in Salt Lake City. The 81-73 setback to Utah knocked the Rebels out of first place in the Mountain West Conference.

The loss also kept coach Lon Kruger from picking up his 400th career victory.

Joe Darger led the Rebels, which dropped to 17-5 overall and 6-2 in the MWC, with 18 points. Three other UNLV players, Curtis Terry (14), Rene Rogeau (12), and Wink Adams (11), scored in double-figures.

Utes Luke Nevill and Johnnie Bryant each scored a season-high 26 points for Utah (13-8 overall, 4-4 MWC), which snapped the Rebels' five-game win streak.

UNLV will take on Colorado State at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Thomas & Mack Center.
