Drag racing fans will have a couple of opportunities to see their favorite drivers away from The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway during this weekend’s SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals.
Many of the sport’s top stars will take part in a free autograph session Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Key West Ballroom at the Palms Resort Casino. Among the drivers scheduled to attend are Tony Schumacher, Tony Pedregon, Jeg Coughlin Jr., Jack Beckman, J.R. Todd, Morgan Lucas, Warren Johnson, Kurt Johnson, Antron Brown, Rod Fuller, Melanie Troxel, Hillary Will, David Grubnic, Jim Yates, Allen Johnson, Justin Humphreys and Kenny Koretsky.
On Saturday, Gary Scelzi, Doug Kalitta, Morgan Lucas, J.R. Todd, Allen Johnson and Jeg Coughlin, Jr. will race each other in Thunder Roadsters during the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series short-track stock car racing program at The Bullring at LVMS.
Spectator gates will open at 5 p.m. Saturday. The NHRA All-Stars will practice at 6:15 and 6:45. The racing card begins at 7 and the NHRA All-Stars race should get the green flag around 7.
