2010 UNLV non-conference football schedule
- Sept. 4 -- vs. Wisconsin
- Sept. 18 -- at Idaho
- Sept. 25 -- at Hawaii
- Oct. 2 -- vs. UNR
- Oct. 9 -- at West Virginia
With the ability to add a 13th game to its 2010 football schedule, the UNLV football program decided to make it one that will turn some heads locally.
The Rebels have added national power West Virginia, which is sure to do the trick.
The schedule already included home non-conference tilts with Wisconsin and UNR, plus road contests at Idaho and Hawaii. However, the NCAA allows teams a 13th game on the schedule when traveling to Hawaii in an effort to offset the travel expenses.
The payout for UNLV's trip to Morgantown comes at a good time for the athletic department, which just yesterday announced a budget cut of more than $1 million. The Rebels will receive $740,000 in cash and $10,000 in tickets for the trip.
West Virginia is the home state of UNLV athletic director Mike Hamrick.
This will be the first ever meeting between the two programs, and will take place on Oct. 9, 2010.
UNLV's 2010 slate also includes road games at BYU and Utah during Mountain West Conference play.

Great, another "Body Bag" game for the $$$. It could be over early folks. Have some other plans planned out for your day.
Bob St. Marie...
Just like the ASU game last year, right? Never lose hope.
RebelRebel,
Yes, but.......I know you are not comparing ASU and WVU? ASU finished 5-7, and WVU finished 9-4. Get back to me on that.
How you gonna get better if you don't play better competition????
Hey Mary, ASU was highly touted going into that game just as WVU is going to be. How do you know they are going to be good that whole season? You don't! I'm excited to be playing a great school with vast tradition. It's good for notariety and experience. Especially since the Rebels are improving personell wise and on the field. You don't know what's going to happen, you're just another troll constantly making negative comments in every article the last few days trying to stir up trouble. Heck, you're probably the same person that already does this but you've taken too much flak and now you have to disguise yourself cuz you couldn't take the heat.
Go Rebs! and ignore the simple minded weaklings who can't handle a challenge.
Hey slowcamfart,
And how do you not know WVU will not be good that whole season? You don't fool. Its people like you that want us to play every major power house school, and get blown away. Just to see us get on TV, so you can make a wager. Yea, you go down to the casino, and wager your whole day's salary against UNLV, a total of $5 bucks. Well come wash my car, and mow my lawn and I will give you an economic bail-out. Haha.
Ignore Slowcamfart, he is just a wannabe unr fan, hiding in Vegas.
marie,
how can you say that we are going to get slammed. if you look at UNLV in the past couple years, we show up for big games..... dont always win them, but we show up and play well. this is a win win situation for us. if we lose, we were expected to. if we win, this could have a major effect on recruiting, confidence, bowl bids and momentum
Wow.....never heard fart associated with my name before or been called a unr fan before. Very unique mary. Interestingly enough, every single thing that you guessed about me or accused me of is dead wrong. Try using that thing we humans call a brain next time you try to roast me. I don't think we should play powerhouses every game. However, one or two in the nonconference a year is very viable. Good luck with that inferiority complex mary.

I see Fast Camron is after you also
He's made personal attacks on me and I reported him to Sun management
and he continues to attack me
Teacheeeeer! Teacheeeeeer! FastCamron is picking on me!
I think that we need to play more teams like WVU. The more higher ranked teams we can play, the better our program will become. I wish we were able to schedule longer term commitments like we do with Wisconsin.
