Quintrell Thomas schedules one more visit

Derrick Bobbitt, the former AAU coach of Kansas transfer Quintrell Thomas, said late last week that his former player would wait until after Memorial Day weekend to announce where he'll be playing ball next.

After announcing his intent to transfer from Bill Self's program in early April, Thomas took visits to St. Joe's, UNLV and Siena.

Now, another school is apparently in the mix.

It was reported Saturday on zagsblog.com that Thomas will take a visit to Iona on Monday.

Thomas, who averaged 1.5 points and 2 rebounds as a freshman in limited reserve duty for the Jayhawks, is still expected to announce his decision following the holiday weekend.

  1. Iona? Siena? Cancel Christmas. This guy wants to play in the MAC. Next..

  2. My setiments exactly. Who else is in the que....

  3. UNLV needs players who want to play here. I'm a little dissapointed we haven't been able to deliver a quality postman. Is there anyone out there who can help us now. I can't think of the last time we had anyone who score in the paint and mix it up inside.

  4. I agree. Send him to Siena!

  5. I think you guys might be overreacting just a bit. 1) The MAAC has had much more success in the tourney the past two years with Siena than anyone in the Mountain West has had, so I wouldn't slam it just yet. Niagara, Rider, Marist, etc., they're pretty quality mid-major programs. 2) We have no idea who Quintrell might have in his ear, either. I've sensed that his interest in UNLV is very high from talking to those around the situation, but keep in mind that he absolutely must make the right choice this time. He can't screw this up, or he'll be traveling down the Beas Hamga path. I wouldn't jump to conclusions on him just yet.

  6. I did jump but you're right Ryan, who knows.

  7. Ryan,

I think you're correct with the UNLV fans overreacting a little. My comments are geared towards the fact that I'm a Siena fan following Quintrell Thomas's decision from any source available.

Thank you for the coverage on QT.
