Eddie Olson became the 20th UNLV golfer in the past 21 seasons to receive All-America recognition Monday when the PING Division-I All-America teams were announced.

Olson, a 5-foot-9, 150-pound junior from Aptos, Calif., led the Rebels with an average score of 71.60 per round this season.

He tied for first at the William H. Tucker Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., in September. Golfweek ranked him 49th in the nation heading into the NCAA Regional, where he finished ninth.

The Golf Coaches Association of America rewarded Olson with honorable mention status Monday in the PING awards.

The first, second and third teams each had 10 members, while 33 were given honorable-mention recognition.
